It's summer. It's hot. Too hot to enjoy this large and well appointed park, except for the splashpad. That play area was also hot, but the water helped cool you off. There was a fairly small area with trees, tables, and synthetic grass near the water. Unfortunately the underlay absorbed the heat so that the grass actually was too hot for toddlers to walk on. A good place on a hot day. Suggest you go early in the day.
One of the most awesome splash pads around. Cash only/ $2 per person BRING EXACT CHANGE they have a poor process for accepting payment and do not maintain their cash machine well. Employee's onsite cannot grant immediate refunds if you do not receive change from the machine. Poor experience with this all 3 times I've been over the past two years. Hence the 3 star review.
There are two very nice trails for walking/running. I would not recommend bringing strollers with unless they work well on gravel. Very nice play area and splash pad.
I took my 8 year old niece to ride her bicycle at 9:00 on a Tuesday. I'm from out of town, and it was nice to find a clean, well-kept park that had friendly staff working.
The park is pretty large, but it is well planned so that everything is accessable. I know it's still under construction, and could receive a 5 star rating if there were restrooms by the train station. The Port-o-Potties just weren't inviting.
The train was fun for the kids, as there were several sets of kids and their parent/parents.
Other activities around the train allowed for kids to keep busy.
This park has a little of everything. Soccer, baseball, football, track. Trails, frisbee golf, water park and tennis. It is clean and well cared for.
